Our Mission

Is to foster, protect and conserve the environmental, archaeological and cultural resources of Vieques.

One of the primary goals is to preserve and study the bioluminescent bays found on the island. The Trust supports a broad array of educational programs for the community, with a special focus on youth through lectures, experiential learning, educational exhibits, seminars, creative and fun environmental education programs, publications, computer resources and a unique scholarship program for Viequense students.

Membership

Currently the VCHT has approximately 500 members. These include organizations and individuals from Vieques, mainland Puerto Rico, the United States and countries around the world. We invite you to become a member so you too can be part of this growing conservation effort.

Reaching People

Every year over 10,000 persons visit the Trust: local residents, visitors from the main island, seasonal residents, and tourists from all over the world.

Your Donation

Your generosity helps support environmental education programs created for Viequense children and youth on subjects such as the sustainability of the Island, its ecological diversity and environmentally-friendly ways to earn a living.
