For 40 years, the VCHT has been focused on protecting the Bioluminescent Bay.

In honor of our 40th anniversary, we’re inviting you to Give $40 to celebrate 40 years of protecting and preserving the Bioluminescent Bay and to allow us to continue our crucial work of restoration. Every dollar supports our mission to keep the bay glowing and our ecosystems thriving for generations to come.
Whether you're giving for the first time or making an anniversary gift, your $40 helps light the way forward.
Our tiny Caribbean island, known for its rich biodiversity, faces significant challenges, particularly from increasingly severe hurricanes that threaten its unique ecosystems.
VCHT’s most important responsibility is the care and preservation of Mosquito Bay, celebrated as the world’s brightest bioluminescent bay. This natural wonder, which attracts more than 200,000 visitors annually from around the globe, is crucial for both ecological balance and local tourism.
WATCH THIS: In the compelling new film "Operation Restoration: GLOW”, you meet key Trust staff members - Hatuey, Mark, Pedro and Airamzul, who are working to restore Mosquito Bay’s entrance and enhance climate resilience through initiatives like plankton and water quality monitoring and planting mangroves.
While progress can be slow, VCHT is determined to return the bay to its pre-Hurricane Maria state.
VCHT actively engages the community to develop nature based solutions that promote sustainable livelihoods and environmental stewardship.
